TripleD Events and the Waldwirtschaft Großhesselohe, Georg-Kalb-Str. 3, 82049 München-Pullach are organizing the 2nd End-of-Summer Jazz, Blues, R&B, Funk and Soul Musical Festival on 11 September beginning 1 p.m. and will continue through 6 p.m. For this party we have hired 2 bands: Blue Heaven and Mel Canady with Chessboard featuring the best horn section that Munich can offer with Ernest Butler, Charles Walker, Butch Kellem and Al Huber. You will dance to the best in black music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

This is going to be a wonderful afternoon of good music, good dancing and good times. The party will be held in the beer garden. If we have rain or cold weather we will hold the party in the tent located on the left side of the beer garden. There is no advance payment, nor is there a cover charge. Just pay for the food and drink that you consume. We only ask for a small tip for the music.

There is parking space available if you want to arrive by car. You can also take the S-Bahn S7; exit is the Isartal Bahnhof. From there it is about a 15-minute walk to the Waldwirtschaft. The best way to get out there is by bicycle. The Waldwirtschaft is very near to the Isar river. The Waldwirtschaft offers a full compliment of good food, a minigolf course and a fully-equipped children’s playground. Held in English, this event focuses on a topic important import for all of us: Fighting Poverty. The evening’s focus will be to question and discuss the role of Social Entrepreneurship in fighting poverty as well as highlighting best- and worst practices. The following questions will guide our discussions:

  • What is the role of Social Entrepreneurship in enabling the poor/disadvantaged and alleviating poverty?
  • How can teaching / supporting entrepreneurship act as a powerful means to empower people to take charge of their own lives and create a sustainable living basis for themselves and for others?
  • What is women’s role in social entrepreneurship and what are challenges that women face in becoming entrepreneurs?

The event will feature some of Munich’s leading NGOs/Social businesses. The featured speakers include Tara McCartney, head of United for Hope and Guest Speaker at our October 2014 monthly meeting:

  • Seeds of Hope – Tara McCartney
  • Bonergie – Gabriele Schwarz

Join experts and social start-ups from the international development field in Germany in creating a space for discussion, inspiration, exchange and networking around the theme ‘Social entrepreneurship and alleviating poverty.’ After the speaker presentations, there will be short pitching session where several organizations will present their topical passions.
