Special Announcement from the US Consulate for US citizens

The U.S. Consulate General in Munich will host its annual American Citizen Services Information & Passport Day on Saturday, June 17 2017 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. U.S. citizens also have the opportunity that day to apply for U.S. passports, and there are still appointments available. Click here to schedule an appointment. Even if you don’t need to renew a passport, come and join us for the cookout! Some of your favorite American food, chips, snacks and sodas will be available for purchase.

The event is open to U.S. citizens and immediate family members.

Please bring your U.S. passport for entry, and read our security instructions as certain items are not allowed inside the U.S. Consulate General.

Art Card Project – Talents needed !

Attention MIWC Artists

We need your talents to make this year’s Art Card project another success. Two years ago, 10 MIWC artists created original artwork for notecards that raised €600 for the club.

This year we are assembling works of solely graphic mediums (paintings, drawings etc. no photos).

Please contact Renee at rbuenting@gmail.com by April 10 if you are interested. We will be scheduling our brainstorming meeting to decide on the theme in April.

Photos of Past MIWC Events Wanted!

Calling all MIWC members, especially those who’ve been around a while (read that to mean…in the club!).  Our 25th anniversary celebration preparations are in full swing!  Take a few minutes to look through your old photo books and digital archives, and send photos of MIWC activities, events and people from the past 25 years to photos@internationalwomensclub.org to be included in the photo presentation in December.  Please be sure to note relevant information: date, event, names.  We especially need photos from the early years of our club’s existence.

If you have pre-digital era photos (you know, when we actually used to print pictures!), either scan them or contact Liz Janson (lizbjanson@gmail.com) to arrange to have them scanned.

Call for Participants: Member Showcase for the June MIWC Monthly Meeting

The Program Committee for the MIWC Monthly Meetings would like to showcase the experiences, stories, and talents of fellow members at the June meeting in lieu of the monthly speaker. The committee will select three participants to speak for about 15 minutes each about a topic they would like to highlight. Examples of topics of past participants in the Member Showcase include exciting travels, volunteer experiences, interesting hobbies, etc.  If you are interested in participating, please send a one paragraph description of your topic to programs@internationalwomensclub.org no later than April 30.  Questions about the Showcase can also be sent to the above email address.  It’s always fascinating to hear about all of the amazing activities that MIWC members are involved with – we look forward to hearing more from all of you!
